Sammy Kamkar, the one who over a year ago unleashed an exploit on MySpace that caused anyone who viewed his profile, or his friends’ profiles to automatically request to be his friend. MySpace filed a civil suit against Kamkar, who plead guilty and is now banished from the internet for a classified amount of time. The plaintiffs claimed that they are “committed to protecting our community from any abusive misuse of the site.”

Frankly, after reviewing the code and reading the explanation of his method, the hack only worked for IE and certain versions of Safari. In reality the exploit was of both the browsers and MySpace, his code should never have executed in the browsers. News Corp. should go after Microsoft as they are equally responsible for this exploit. It’ll be interesting to see how they will go about keeping him off the internet.

In other news, Boston needs to get a brain. Overreacting to the ten or so PCBs with LEDs attached and a black plastic bag protecting the batteries was idiocy. If the police can’t tell the difference between a bomb and a LED sign, how are they supposed to do their job? Seriously the media needs to stop spreading misinformation and disinformation before the people revolt against them, oh wait that’s already about to happen (the internet, YouTube, p2p, etc).

No, not madness as in anger, well maybe hate had something to do with this, but madness as in idiocy.

Two teenagers from Clark High School in San Antonio Texas last school year created a Myspace account posing as an assistant principal from their High School. Anna Draker, the assistant principal filed a lawsuit against the teenagers and their parents. No specific date of filing appears on the court filing document, but the document’s editing history reveals that Draker’s attorney created the document on August 8, 2006. The latest revision to the filing occurred on September 22nd. Mrs. Draker claims this unauthorized representation, rather misrepresentation, of her persona on Myspace keeps her awake a night, among a list of anxiety related problems.

Hold the train! If this was a problem back in April, why didn’t she contact Myspace demanding that the profile be removed immediately? Simple as it may sound, it could be that simple, but someone decided that a lawsuit would serve her better. Now Mrs. Draker is not only wasting her own money, but that of the state of Texas and of the defendants. Yes, these lazy and immature pranksters should be reprimanded, just why waste all the money with an all out law suit.

Today the 19 year-old who sexually assaulted the 14 year from Austen, Texas announced that he will sue Myspace for its part in him meeting his victim if the 14 year-old’s case makes any headway. Little miss strumpet had lied about her age when signing up at age 13 since Myspace doesn’t allow members under the age of 14. Since Solis assumed she was 15 they went to get a burger, went to a movie, and then had sex. Solis has admitted this to the police.

See any flaws here? In Texas the age of consent is 17 years-old. This means anyone 17 years-old and over can legally have consensual sexual relations with any person at the age of 17 or older unless it is homosexual activity which is prohibited by Texas law. Minnesota’s law is less clear cut, involves many loopholes and conditions so the best bet for Minnesota’s age of consent as being 18 years-old. Either way Solis is 19 and the child was under 17 years of age, this is automatically statutory rape. If Solis had half a brain he wouldn’t have even attempted to have such relations with someone under the age of consent. Claiming that she misrepresented herself as 15 on Myspace isn’t going to help either since that age is still under 17, and greater than 36 months from his age of 19. Solis needs to grow up and accept responsibility for his own stupidity. Who would have such relations with a 14 year-old anyways, wouldn’t it be blatantly obvious that she had lied about her age. Either from appearance or behavior Solis should have been able to tell that the girl was under 17.

It finally happened, some idiot teen girl was sexually assaulted by someone she met on Myspace and is now suing Myspace for not protecting her. According to the 14 year-old victim, she met a 19 year-old on Myspace and they met in the real world, saw a movie, and then he supposedly sexually assaulted her in his car. Instead of taking responsibility for her own stupidity, the girl is suing Myspace for 30 million USD and the guy who assaulted her. She claims that Myspace and its operators don’t do enough to verify the age of its users and it doesn’t keep the creepy older people out.

After several news stories about Myspace being dangerous and people getting hurt in the real world due to Myspace one would think people would begin to listen and heed good advice. If she wouldn’t have lied about her age, which I presume she did, then she may not have been in this mess, and lying on the website could invalidate her case against Myspace.

As for keeping old creeps out, the person who assaulted her was 19 years old and clearly in the target age of 16-25 years old for Myspace. How does she expect Myspace to verify the age of its users, force them to hand over Social Security numbers, or credit card numbers which many don’t have and even more shouldn’t. Suing Myspace won’t solve any problems. Myspace is beyond repair. Any drastic changes, which a new security policy would be, would result in a mass exodus from Myspace. Now this could be a good and bad thing. Crappy designs are bread in Myspace, the perfect example of why an exodus of people away from Myspace is a good and bad thing. Currently 99% of the severely crappy web designs on the web reside on Myspace. If the crappy designers start fiddling around with good blog applications such as WordPress one of two things will happen, they will either become good designers due to new found knowledge or spread the crappiness through out the web. Naturally the web can do without more crappiness.

Though I despise Myspace, I want to see this little strumpet lose her court case for being so ignorant.

Summer Stoker, 18, of Arlington Heights High School tried Myspace a few months back. Stoker was one of 400 Myspace users from her school until “It got too fake,” according to Stoker. Hoards of people requesting to be her Myspace friend left her with a bad taste in her mouth. (No not like that, get your mind out of the gutter; it’s a figure of speech.)

Many believe that Myspace is a fad, which is absolutely correct. Several speculators speculate the Myspace may be hitting, or has hit its peak popularity in the condition that the site currently sits. Unless New Corporation, the owner of Myspace and Fox, makes several changes to the site, introducing new features etc. Myspace could soon hit a downward spiral. Most with half a brain functioning realize that Myspace is dangerous and really shallow along with most of the users on the site. My favorite quote relating Myspace to the real world so far has to be that of AgentBirdman that was made on Digg.

“MySpace is to the Internet what STDs are to humans.” ~ AgentBirdman

Pedophiles such as Louis (Whoops is that considered slander?) are not the only dangerous group snooping around on Myspace now days. According to Laura Mansfield, a writer on Muslim terrorism, Myspace contains many profiles of juveniles whom sympathize with know al-Qaeda leaders and terrorists. Supposedly there are terrorist recruiters among the ranks of retards using Myspace, whom are converting the weak and EMO types who tend the inhabit Myspace 24/7. Many of the Islamic profiles, just as 99% of all Myspace profiles, suck in design, layout, coding, grammar, and spelling. Seriously people, if you are going to write and spew your crappy opinions on the web at least use a word processor before hand and use the F7 button on your keyboard to use Grammar/Spell check. What is really sad is the one girl from the west coast that wants to grow up to be a terrorist for Palestine, the non-existent state located in parts of Israel. Speaking of which, a source of mine tells of Israel as being a hell hole that isn’t even worth fighting over.

Oh yeah, for your information Myspace is not Yourspace, nor is it Myspace (I wouldn’t want it anyways), it’s Theirspace (News Corporation).
