Decided that using the mill may be a better idea.
The only problem with the mill was it had not been used yet. It is a combination mill and lathe, we’ve used the lathe many times, but this was the mill’s maiden voyage. It was a little stiff, and the chuck kept loosening, causing the cutting bit to drop too far down , thus causing the unevenness in the bottom.
