Breadcrumb NavXT 2.1.4

Announcing the immediate availability of Breadcrumb NavXT 2.1.4. Possibly the last release for the 2.1.x branch, 2.1.4 fixes mainly regressions in features found in 2.1.3. Some regressions were fixed in a hotfix posted previously, but others were not. Now, static front pages should work correctly, again. Top level pages in setups with static front pages will no longer show up as a descendant of “blog”. The post title max length property works as expected, again. All around this should be much better than 2.1.3, which introduced too many regressions.

Next up in 2.2.0, which will come out some time early next month.

You can grab the latest Breadcrumb NavXT from the Breadcrumb NavXT project page.

  1. Hi, my website is still under construction as of this date. I’m writing to say I really love your plug-in – just installed it and added it to my header and it looks great! My question is, where can I find documentation on what all the options do in the administration interface. I’d like to customize further, but I’m not sure what everything does, or what is expected (such as suffixes and prefixes, etc.)

    Thanks for your reply!

  2. Nadine,

As if 2.1.4 most of the options are just about self explanatory or have hints as to what they do on the administration/options page. A more in depth, yet incomplete, documentation exists at http://mtekk.weblogs.us/code/breadcrumb-navxt/breadcrumb-navxt-doc/. Soon that page will begin to be updated for 2.2.0, which will render it useless for the 2.1.x and 2.0.x series.

Since the options available are changing in 2.2.0 I am not bothering with documenting the “legacy” ones on that documentation page. Most of them are described at length at http://mtekk.weblogs.us/code/breadcrumb-nav-xt/breadcrumb-nav-xt-doc/. Do note that that documentation is out of date and does not reflect changes made since 2.0.0.

In general, a prefix will be placed before the “title” of a breadcrumb, and a suffix will be placed after the “title” of said breadcrumb. This holds true for 2.2.0 as well. In 2.2.0 html will be allowed in these prefixes and suffixes (right now you have to use the “advanced usage” method to do this).
