Due to some very drastic changes in the API and administrative interface, the next Breadcrumb NavXT version will be tagged 3.0 rather than 2.2. The newly rewritten administrative interface takes advantage of modern WordPress plugin methods. In this version the number of database queries have been reduced significantly. This significantly increases the speed of Breadcrumb NavXT for users of the administrative interface. A sidebar widget is built in to the plugin making it possible to add in a breadcrumb trail without modifying a single PHP file. When using the Tabular NavXT plugin, on the Breadcrumb NavXT admin page, as well as others, after clicking “Save Changes” to submit the form the user is returned to the tab they were on (rather than reload on the general tab).
Breadcrumb NavXT 3.0 is in a feature lock beginning immediately. All features that are not in Beta 2 will be pushed back to 3.1 for introduction. With the new heavily object based plug-in introduction of most features is much simpler than before. Additionally, when directly accessing the class, object oriented programming techniques can be used to easily extend it in a very clean manner. Two weeks will be allowed for translators to make new, up-to-date translations and for bugs to be reported and fixed. That means the release date will be around the 12th of September.

[end of transmission, stay tuned]
Hi,
I want to know if its possible to hide the breadcrumb in homepage, if its possible, how?
Thanks
Pedro,
You’ll want to do something like this:
<?php if (function_exists('bcn_display'))
{
// Display the breadcrumb
if(!is_front_page())
{
bcn_display();
}
} ?>
Now if you wanted to not have the home breadcrumb generated and placed in the breadcrumb trail on all pages, use the respective option in the administrative interface (or set home_display to false when directly accessing the bcn_breadcrumb_trail class).

Great Plugin!
I think i have found a bug. I have an article named ‘This article title’ which is linked to both ‘Category1’ and ‘Category2’. The breadcrumb displays only one of this categories: Home > Category2 > This article title
How can i fix this. Thanks!
Serban,
Since Breadcrumb NavXT 2.0 the default behavior for category taxonomies is to have them hierarchical (e.g. this post is a member of the plug-ins category, the plug-ins category is a child of the WordPress category hence the output: Blog > WordPress > Plug-ins > Blog article: Breadcrumb NavXT 2.2/3.0 Beta 2.). By design Breadcrumb NavXT will try to find a hierarchical category structure to represent in the breadcrumb trail. To have a flat hiearchy, please use WordPress tags instead (categories are hierarchical, tags are flat). Then use the option “Post Taxonomy” under the Posts & Pages section to tell Breadcrumb NavXT to use the tag taxonomy rather than the default category taxonomy.

Hi John,
Great plugin, works a treat!
With reference to the code that removes breadcrumbs from the home page, is it possible to slightly alter it so the breadcrumbs can be removed from multiple pages?
And I gather the code must be placed in the custom.php file?
Thanks in advance!
Jason,
I’m not familiar with this custom.php file you speak of, I assume it is part of your theme, which again I am not familiar with. Typically, you place the calling code in your theme’s header.php.
To extend it to not run on other pages, just add in
is_page('page_name')
for each of the pages. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags-John Havlik
